Sorry Folks, They Can’t Be Separated.

That is how some adoptions occur. Two canines have been together for months and the breeder will NOT let them be adopted separately. So, what do you do? Well, you either move on or accept their rules. If you have fallen in love with both of them, how can you possibly “spin on your heels” and just look for a singular dog?

We want to you to be aware of the disadvantages. Among them are –

1.  It is hard enough to train ONE let alone two.

2.  Double the work…double the mischief.

3.  They have bonded with each other and don’t care much about you.

4.  If you pay too much attention to one the other will get “jealous.”

This is where your newest best friend Dennis Danskin comes in. He is an accomplished dog trainer in Las Vegas who will train your pet anywhere in the Valley. Having more than one dog to train is not new for Dennis. You will see his humane training methods at his aptly-named website trainhumane.net. Call him for a complimentary visit at (702) 327-4744.

How Long Should I Wait Before I Adopt my New Best Friend?

Obviously, there is no “one answer fits all.” The standard answer is right away, but is that the right one for you and your family? Have you taken time to grieve the loss of a previous pet? The other school of thought is “I will never own another dog…it is just too painful to say good-bye."  Dog ownership is a conflicted mix of unbridled joy and some grief.

For some, the loneliness of an empty house makes the grieving process even more difficult and a new pet can surely help. For others, they may feel resentful toward a pet obtained too soon. The time to obtain a new pet is when you have worked completely through your grief and are confident that you can look forward to a relationship with a new best friend.

That brings us to Las Vegas humane dog trainer, Dennis Danskin. Have you heard of him? Well, when it comes to training your new canine buddy into the type of companion you have hoped for, he is the answer anywhere in the Valley. See his methodology and read his testimonials at trainhumane.net. Call him for a complimentary visit at (702) 327-4744.

Choke Chains, Shock Collars, and Clickers…Oh My!

It sounds painful…doesn’t it? Imagine how it feels to your dog. Yes, there are actually dog trainers in this world who still practice those archaic techniques to train YOUR best friend. Have you ever heard the expression “I would not subject my dog to that?!” It is an expression used with disdain to express something you would never do to anyone you cared about.

Using shock collars or choke chains, etc. to train a dog are what is known as “negative reinforcement.” Many humans have been the victim of such rearing as children and it rarely turns out well. Believe me, it won’t work on your dog either! You want a best friend who wants to go out of its way to please you…not FEAR you.

When I train your puppy or grown dog I never, never use negative reinforcement. I train humane. It rolls off the tongue as an expression, but it is much more…it is a mantra of mine. Check it out, visit trainhumane.net and discover more about me, Dennis Danskin. Please call me for a complimentary meet-and-greet at (702) 327-4744.

Now for the Positives About Holiday Adoption.

Earlier, I addressed the several reasons why you might want to wait into the New Year to adopt a new best friend. Now, the opposite of that…adopting a puppy as a gift right now to put a huge smile on the face(s) of your children. You will suddenly become the greatest mom or dad in the history of parenthood!

Here are some other reasons to adopt NOW –

1.  With everyone home there is extra time to interact with your new puppy.

2.  You just rescued a life and made a space for someone else’s new best friend.

3.  A study showed that 86% of pets adopted during the holidays remain at home.

Now, for the training. Oh yes, your new puppy does not come with an instruction manual. I am a phone call away, and if you are comfortable, I will train your new addition in the familiar surroundings of your own home. Please visit my website at trainhumane.net to see my methodology and call me for a complimentary in-home visit at (702) 327-4744.

Stop and Think Before You Adopt.

Normally, I would not be issuing this warning…except during holiday season! If you are considering a new best friend to add to your family JUST because it is Christmas, I would like for you to think very carefully about (perhaps) waiting until 2021 to make that important family decision.

Here are some reasons why –

1.  A new dog will require time and care…do you have that time right now?

2.  Is the person who will be responsible fully onboard with the decision?

3.  Puppy mills will push hard during this time of year.

4.  They will almost certainly require proper training.

To that last point, I am here for you. My name is Dennis Danskin, a renowned dog trainer in the Las Vegas Valley for decades. When (not if) you make this important decision please give me a call at (702) 327-4744. And from me, Dennis Danskin to all of you in your soon to be extended family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
