Are Two Dogs Better than One?

It is a complicated question.  Depending on whom you ask you may get a different response.  You could start with one basic premise.  Two females are often (but not always) a bad mix.  Believe it or not, two females will tend to fight viciously with each other even more than two males.  Now there’s a hierarchy with which humans may not be familiar!

Adding a new puppy to the household with a dog that may have established its territory for a decade or more can be tricky.  Here are some steps you can take immediately –

1.  Put away the older dog’s chew toys
2.  Have places in your home where the two can get away from each other for a minute
3.  Have separate food dishes
4.  Make sure that all of your furry friends are up-to-date with their shots

Next, call Dennis Danskin.  That’s right, The Las Vegas area’s premier dog and puppy trainer.  He has seen every possible canine combination in his half century of dog training.  If you have more than one dog in your household make sure that you call in Dennis for a seamless transition.  Anywhere in the Las Vegas NV area just call (702) 327-4744.

Don’t Criticize…Embrace!

You might be fascinated with an online survey by Kelton Research, involving about 1000 people.  It indicates that the status of dogs as family members is changing.  It appears that in the minds of the Americans who responded to the survey, dogs are becoming more important as family members, particularly as children.

For example, more than four out of five of those surveyed consider their dogs to be true family members, equal in status to children.  It appears that dogs have become such an important part of the family that 54% of Americans now consider themselves to be “parents” rather than “owners”.  It seems to occur the moment that the dog joins the family.

Here is what COULD happen in your household.  You adopt a four-legged child, then you let it rule the household by not having him or her properly trained.  They don’t come with an instruction manual, but there is Dennis Danskin.  Dennis is one of the nation’s premier dog trainers and he is right here in Las Vegas.  Call him today for a free no-obligation in-home visit at (702) 327-4744.
