Shock collars are a type of training initially used in the 1960s to train hunting dogs.  In the 21st  Century, shock collars are used to curb a variety of stubborn and unwanted behaviors in family dogs, for a variety of reasons, as well as to train puppies to stay safely within a property line or to stick close by while off leash.  You wouldn’t do that to your child, would you?
