Shock collars are a type of training initially used in the
1960s to train hunting dogs. In the 21st Century, shock collars are used to curb a
variety of stubborn and unwanted behaviors in family dogs, for a variety of
reasons, as well as to train puppies to stay safely within a property line or
to stick close by while off leash. You
wouldn’t do that to your child, would you?
Things you should know about shock collars –
1. Their intensity
can be adjusted to a very high level.
2. Do you want to
train your dog through fear?
3. They may deliver a
shock when not needed.
4. There is NO
positive reward.
When you were a kid did your mom or dad ever tell you “well,
you’ll just have to learn the hard way”.
A shock collar IS “the hard way”!
